LG G Watch price plunges to Rs 6,849

LG G Watch price plunges to Rs 6,849

NEW DELHI: LG's first Android Wear-powered smartwatch, G Watch is now available online at prices as low as Rs 6,849.
A seller on Amazon.in started selling the G Watch at Rs 8,426 last week and now the smartwatch is selling at an even lower price of Rs 6,849 on the same marketplace. The LG G Watch is also selling at Rs 6,992 on Snapdeal.
LG G Watch was listed on the Google Play Store in India at a price of Rs 14,999, in June.
The watch was launched globally at $229 but received a $50 price cut in September.
It's worth pointing out that LG had also introduced G Watch R, a smartwatch that sports a round form factor like the Moto 360. Perhaps, LG wants to get rid of G Watch stocks before it makes the new watch available in the markets.

LG G Watch sports a 1.65-inch IPS LCD(280x280p) display. It is also powered by a 1.2 GHz Processor and 512MB RAM, and comes with 4GB internal storage. It has a 400mAh battery. LG G Watch comes with changeable straps, accelerometer, gyroscope and compass, and is dust and water resistant(IP67).

The smartwatch is equipped with Google's voice recognition service and can perform simple tasks including checking email, sending text messages and carrying out an online search at users' voice command.

The device cannot make phone calls but can be connected to many of the latest Android-based smartphones. The watch can be used with any Smartphone running Android 4.3 and above.

Motorola had also launched its Moto 360 smartwatch in India at Rs 17,999 with limited stocks on Flipkart. Flipkart and Motorola have promised to replenish the stocks after the watch sold out post the initial listing.
